Welcome to The Sunset Owl*.  This is a place where I share the things that buzz around in my head.

I write stories and analyze literature, film, and television.  I am fond of coffee, Shakespeare, light breezes, the sound of crisp page turns, moths, goosebumps, bad drawings of cats, and the general vibe of autumn.

The following are the sorts of pieces I post:

Letters to Nobody: Existential rambles that ideally reach some sort of conclusion.

Classics Retold: A retelling of a myth, fairy tale, or fable, through a new lens, perspective, or style.  These employ creative license, and are not intended as sources for the original story.

Dust Off My Bookshelf: Literature analysis using theoretical lenses and my English major brain.

Unsolicited Opinions: My piping hot takes on film, television, and literature.

Short Stories: A collection of various short stories.  These are primarily self-contained, unless I decide to get crazy for some reason.

Halfway Down the Rabbit Hole: Works in progress.  This is intended to show and share the wonderful frustrations of writing.

*The Sunset Owl is a pen name. Like an owl at sunset, I am overeager, discombobulated, and out of my depth.
